DWS Spring Internship - Product Specialist & Strategy

Start Date

Internships in Germany are between 3 months and 6 months long. You must be available for the entire internship duration.

You can apply for one of three seasonal intakes: Spring, Summer or Autumn. Each intake offers a flexible start date within the timeframes listed below and the internship end date can be outside the timeframe.

• Spring Intake Start Dates: January 1 – April 30, 2026
• Summer Intake Start Dates: May 1 – July 31, 2026
• Autumn Intake Start Dates: August 1 – December 31, 2026

About the DWS Internship  

The DWS Internship offers a unique and exciting opportunity to gain a wide range of practical experiences through individual projects, speaker sessions and networking events. With strong support from mentors and managers, you will be challenged to grow while gaining valuable insights into the world of Asset Management. Subject to performance, successful interns may be offered a place on the DWS Graduate P.A.C.E. Program the following year. 
 
About the Team

As part of the global DWS Product Division, our Product Specialist team is at the heart of innovation, combining deep financial expertise with real-world client interaction to deliver cutting-edge investment solutions. You'll gain hands-on experience working between sales teams and portfolio managers, translating complex strategies into clear, client-focused outcomes. Beyond managing products, we drive change—launching new investment ideas, refining pricing models, and traveling to meet clients and partners to understand their unique financial goals. Meanwhile, our Product Strategy team acts as our radar for the future, identifying global market shifts and transforming them into bold, strategic product visions, while ensuring regional specifics and deriving actions

As our DWS Intern, you will:

• Expand your knowledge about capital markets by working side-by-side with our portfolio managers and sales colleagues 
• Deepen your understanding of Active portfolio management strategies and learn how we can address the challenges our clients are facing in various market phases 
• Support the preparation of institutional client pitches as well as roadshows for retail distribution partners 
• Become involved in cross-divisional initiatives to steadily enhance our offering 
• Conduct research & quantitative analysis, including competitor research, to support decision making processes and identify future product trends
• Support in depth market analysis for institutional & retail clients ensuring alignment with regional specifics in EMEA, APAC & US markets

Eligibility Criteria

• Advanced (C1) German language and advanced English skills
• Currently studying for a bachelor's or master's degree and in your penultimate or final year of study, OR on a gap year between your bachelor's and masters degree
• Less than 12 months of full-time relevant work experience (excluding internships)
  
• Strong skills in MS Office tools
• Team player with a curious mind
• Keen interest in financial markets and portfolio strategies; prior experience is not required
